The Metaphysics of Mountains
In the past years I have been fascinated by the eternity of the Swiss Mountains and the decay and restart of landscapes. Compared to landscape paintings of the Renaissance, Baroque or Romantism, which resemble a real nature landscape experience to the eye of the spectator, I do not want to portray an area of unspoiled nature nor a topographic portrait of the Swiss mountains. I don’t look at the nature of mountains as friend nor enemy, but as a creation of uniqueness and beauty. Mountains are the best story tellers. They tell us about silence, devotion, and forgiveness. They are the holy grail, people are looking for all their lives.
